Refining

Peninsula managed all aspects of products sales and inventory hedging for a regional western U.S. refinery. Peninsula also made Nymex cracks and basis hedge recommendations to senior management.

In conjunction with refinery management, Peninsula formulated a plan to increase the value of the refinery’s different gasoline streams by blending them to a “CBOB” quality, transporting them to a major market to be blended with ethanol for sale at the wholesale rack level.

Airlines

International airlines hired Peninsula to review jet fuel supply contracts, analyze physical price exposure and recommend appropriate financial hedging tools.

Peninsula also recommended asset strategies to reduce fuel costs and increase security of supply, including the importation of physical jet fuel and acquiring storage in critical locations.

Crude Oil

Peninsula’s expertise is in enhancing value for crude oil producers by evaluating their current marketing and sales situation and exploring new sales channels, including execution and management. Peninsula has worked in several U.S. regions covering in states such as Oklahoma North Dakota and Utah.

In addition to conventional crude projects, Peninsula worked with a crude reclamation company, to hedge their purchases; improve efficiencies at existing plants including the evaluation of the economics of laying a natural gas line to the facility, and the development of new locations. Finally, Peninsula evaluated the economics and regulations associated with acquiring a non-operational tank farm in rural Oklahoma, negotiating a long-term lease with a major tank-farm operator.

Hedging

Peninsula has worked with many companies involved in different sectors of the industry to review, evaluate and recommend hedging strategies.

Peninsula has also been retained to manage the day-to-day hedging for several companies.

Gasoline

Peninsula is working with clients to enhance gasoline blending profitability and gasoline marketing in several locations in the U.S. including New York Harbor and the mid-west.

Ethanol

Peninsula was the lead manager for Rail Renewables, LLC (RRL). In conjunction with the Norfolk Southern railroad, RRL financed, constructed, operates and manages a facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee that unloads ethanol from rail cars to pipe and truck.

Bulk Wholesale

Peninsula has been hired by regional energy companies to evaluate existing and potential businesses. These have included evaluating the risks to entering a long-term diesel and gasoline wholesale pipeline supply arrangement and negotiating marine diesel supply contracts.

Compressed Natural Gas

Peninsula, in conjunction with partner organizations, analyzes the economics and viability of converting a fleet from diesel or gasoline to CNG.

Peninsula will install fueling stations, convert the vehicles, provide on-going maintenance and fleet management and the execution and management of fuel pricing strategies.

Non-Profit Organizations

Peninsula has worked with Oklahoma City non-profit organizations to manage and reduce fuel costs which included fleet optimization strategies and introductions to fuel suppliers.

Educational Seminars

Peninsula has been hired to present custom-tailored educational seminars to senior managers with different exposure levels to the oil industry. Presentation topics have included “Oil 101”, hedging, logistics and market dynamics.
